​Canadian-born Taveeta Szymanowicz is an actress, filmmaker, and choreographer. Majoring in Dance at Toronto’s prestigious Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, Taveeta was highly exposed to the Dramatic/Vocal Arts where she discovered her passion for Acting and Singing. After graduating with Honors in Outstanding Artistic Achievement, Taveeta began to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional performing artist. Taveeta landed her first major series regular television roles as ‘Thalia’ on the hit teen dance drama TV series The Next Step -- alongside Lamar Johson (The Hate You Give, Your Honor, Native Son, Kings) and Shamier Anderson (Destroyer, Race, Stowaway, John Wick 4) -- and as ‘Valerie Graves’ on Nickelodeon's Make It Pop.

 

With the international fame and success of The Next Step, came a large international demand, and Taveeta -- alongside the rest of her co-stars -- travelled around the world touring The Next Step Wild Rhythm Tour at various world-renowned theatres throughout Canada, the UK, Ireland, & Spain! During her time on tour, Taveeta received a nomination for Best Actress in a TV Comedy or Action Leading Role at The Joey Awards.

 

Most recently Taveeta can be seen as series regular ‘Riri Curtis’ in USA’s/Netflix’s/NBC Universal/Filmm44 crime series Dare Me-- starring alongside Willa Fitzgerald (The Goldfinch), Zac Roerig (Vampire Diaries), Rob Heaps (Imposters), Marlo Kelly (Home & Away) & Herizen Guardiola (The Getdown)-- and as ‘Young Deloris Allen’ --- as Tamara Taylor (Bones) characters younger self -- in the Netflix series October Faction.

 

Taveeta’s other credits include roles in SIFY’s 12 Monkeys, Crave TV’s Letterkenny, Starz's American Gods, FX’s Emmy Award Winning What We Do In The Shadows, Lifetime’s The Sweetheart Con and Remember Me Mommy, the CW Pilot Glamourous -- directed by Eva Longoria--, CBC's Hudson and Rex, and a role in BRON Studios Brother. Taveeta's theatre credits include Ross Petty Productions Peter Pan In Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty at The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre.

 

Additionally, Taveeta can be seen regularly representing and working in partnership with organizations like Plan International Canada and Re: wild. As a young working professional in the entertainment industry, Taveeta continues to educate, train and harness her skills while also exploring multiple creative outlets. She currently coaches performers privately, alongside running Made To Tell Studio, and heads up the acting classes for Brent Street Performing Arts "Academy Program" and "Performance Training Program".

 

Taveeta aspires to use her role in the industry as a platform to tell important stories and influence positive change.
